About Us
BandBox Laundry is a well-established laundry service with a long history of serving our community. We are now embarking on an exciting and ambitious digital transformation. Our primary goal is to build a cutting-edge native mobile application and website, moving beyond our traditional brick-and-mortar setup to prepare for expansion into new geographical regions.
We are looking for a creative and data-driven professional to lead this transformation and build our digital presence from the ground up, with a strong focus on creating a "gold standard" mobile experience.
The Role
We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to own the entire design process, with a primary focus on our new mobile application (iOS & Android), complemented by our responsive website.
You will be responsible for completely re-imagining our brand identity for the digital age and translating that into an intuitive, accessible, and scalable user experience. You will create our entire brand kit, build complete UI/UX storyboards, and deliver pixel-perfect mockups. Crucially, you will also use UX analysis to validate your designs and ensure every change positively impacts our users.
Core Responsibilities
- Mobile-First & Web Design (UI/UX)
- App Design: Design and deliver wireframes, user journeys, and high-fidelity prototypes for our native iOS and Android applications, ensuring you adhere to Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Google's Material Design principles.
- Web Design: Create intuitive and responsive designs for our customer-facing website, ensuring a seamless experience from mobile to desktop.
- Prototyping: Build interactive prototypes in Figma to simulate user flows and gather stakeholder/user feedback before development.
- Design System: Build and maintain a comprehensive design system in Figma, with a focus on creating reusable components for both mobile and web platforms to ensure consistency and speed up development.
- Brand Identity & Visual Design
- Brand Kit Development: Design and document a comprehensive new brand kit (logos, colour palettes, typography) to completely redo our brand image.
- Asset Creation: Create custom icon packages, illustrations, and other graphic assets optimised for our mobile app interfaces and website.
- Marketing Assets: Assist in designing digital marketing collateral (e.g., app store screenshots, social media graphics) using tools like Canva.
- UX Research & Analysis
- User Research: Conduct user research (interviews, surveys, persona development) to deeply understand the needs of our laundry service customers.
- Usability Testing: Plan and execute usability tests on app and web prototypes to identify pain points and areas for improvement.
- UX Analysis: Use analytical tools to monitor user behaviour on our platforms, identify drop-off points, and measure the impact of UI changes.
- Data-Driven Iteration: Provide clear, actionable reports based on your analysis to ensure all design decisions are positive in nature and driven by user data.

Required:
- Previous experience of working in/with a laundry business.
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing mobile app design (iOS/Android) and responsive web design.
